Kirchzell Coat of Arms
Shield Gules the front of a church Argent, in dexter chief an impending crozier Or, in sinister chief an impending 6-spokes wheel Argent.
Meaning:
The church (German: Kirche) is a canting element and a representation of the local parish church. The crozier is alluding to the Benedictine Amorbach Monastery, which had been an important manorial lord since the 12th century until 1803, when the monastery was secularised. The wheel is the symbol of the Archbishopric of Mainz, which gained privileges since 1271 and later on had a reeve, responsible for the Wildenberg District (German: Amt). The archbishopric had also been local ruler in the current county. Kirchzell gained the status of a market town in the first half of the 19th century.
