Naundorf Coat of Arms
Shield Vert a (broad) bend embowed Argent charged with a pheasant statant Gules, on sinister chief a post horn Or, on dexter base a sugar beet Or in bend.
Meaning:
The three parts of the shield are representing the former municipalities of Naundorf proper, Hof and Hohenwussen. Green and white are the colours of Sachsen. Green is also symbolising agriculture and nature. The pheasant is alluding to the great population of pheasants, which had been subject of hunting. The horn is referring to the historical post road. The sugar beet is the most important local crop. Red and white had been the main tinctures of the arms of the Planitz family, who lived in Naundorf, and of the Schleinitz family, who lived in Hof.
