Coat of Arms
Description of coat of arms:
Shield parted per pale, at dexter Or three wolf traps Sable ordered 2:1, at sinister Sable a lion rampant Argent crowned Or.
Meaning:
The wolf traps were taken from the arms of the former Schledehausen municipality, which had also been before the family arms of the Lords of Sledesen (~1100-1396). They were approved to Schledehausen on 8 February 1951 by Minister of Interior of Lower Saxony. The Sledesen kin had been vassals of the Bishops of Osnabrück. The lion is taken from the arms of the Knights of Bissendorf and the former arms of the municipality.
