Gangkofen Coat of Arms
Shield Sable three fleur-de-lis Argent ordered 2:1, chief bendy of four of Argent and Azure.
Meaning:
The chief according to its grant is consisting of four lozenges and thus considered to be a differentiation of the arms of the Dukes of Bayern-Landshut. The meaning of the fleur-de-lis is unknown. Probably they are alluding to a local commandery of the Teutonic Order. Arms and seals remained basically the same since 1556, when the first print of a town seal was proven. During the 16th century the chief sometimes is parted sinister bendy.

The banner has never been approved officially. The arms were granted on 18 December 1450 by Duke Ludwig IX the Rich of Bayern-Landshut.
