Thalmassing Coat of Arms
Shield Gules a chevron enhanced Argent, in base a rooster passant of the same.
Meaning:
The rooster is an attribut of St. Vitus, patron saint of the Benedictine Prüll Monastery, which had been the most important manorial lord in the villages that nowadays form Thalmassing. The chevron is taken from the arms of the Counts of Lerchenfeld, who included the districts (Bavarian: Hofmarken) of Thalmassing, Gebelkofen, Wolkering and Luckenpaint into their widespread dominions. The chevron was also part of the arms of the Pfeffenhauser kin, owners of the Luckenpaint Fortress for two centuries.
