Introduction
The Ernestine line of the Wettin dinasty divided itself further (...). The line of Saxe-Meiningen was founded in 1681 by Duke Bernard, sixth son of Ernest the Pious of Saxe-Gotha. In 1825 another branch of Saxe-Gotha extinguished and Saxe-Meiningen doubled its size.

Landesfarben: Horizontal bicolor green-white. In use until 1918.
