Meaning:
The demi-eagle is a differenciation of the Brandenburg arms. Hammer and mallet are symbolising mining and processing of iron. The grain ears are symbolising agriculture.

Though the municipality currently has no official symbols, the old symbols are in use. The arms were approved on 24 September 1936 by province governor (Oberprsident) of the Prussian Saxony Province. The flag was approved on 20 July 1999 by district governor (Regierungspräsident) of Magdeburg. The symbols probably were abolished on 31 May 2010.
