Geldersheim Coat of Arms
Renaissance shield parted per pale, at dexter Argent a grain sheaf Argent eared and tied Or, at sinister Argent an impending crozier Azure decorated Or by a flower and two knobs, surrounded in base by three huerts Azure ordered 2:1.
Meaning:
Local chronicles mention a seal, which was confirmed in 1667 by Johann Philipp of Schönborn, Bishop of Würzburg. The seal displayed already a sheaf on its sinister half and an image of St. Nicholas, the local patron saint, on its dexter half. This pattern had been forgotten for a long time and was revived in 1962. The quarters were changed and the saint was replaced by his attributes, a crozier and three balls, realised as huerts (blue discs). Usually the balls are Or representing golden apples.
