Service Flag for Admirals (also described by Carsten Linke as Deputy Minister and Chief of the Volksmarine). Blue flag with the National People's Army emblem in the center and a yellow anchor in the upper hoist. Ratio 3:5. Illustrated in Oliver 1993, p. 31. Uncertain what the relation between this flag and the Admiral's flag may be.

Meyers Neues Lexikon, Leipzig, 1974 contains the following rank flags of the DDR: Stander der Volksmarine: Brigadenchef, Abteilungchef, Gruppenchef.

FOTW shows images for Abteilungchef and Gruppenchef. There is a third one for a Flotilla Commander or Flotillenchef. If I am not mistaken, a flotilla is the Navy equivalent to a brigade in the Army. Maybe the Brigadenchef flag in Meyers Neues Lexikon is the same as the Flotillenchef flag in FOTW?
