About the Ministry

The Ministry of Sports and Recreation (Ministerio de Deportes y Recreación, MIDEREC) is the part of the Dominican Republic government responsible for organizing, directing, regulating, and executing all sports activities of the country in cooperation with the Ministry of Education's development of national physical education and sports programs. The Ministry of founded in 1974.
