Unidad Educativa Nuevo Continente was inaugurated on 19 April 1995 in Guayaquil.

The flag of UE Nuevo Continente is quartered blue-red by a white cross, charged in the center with a blue Earth.

Blue symbolizes the sky and the sea.
Red is a symbol of force and teacher's sacrifice, as well as love and care offered to the students.
The cross symbolizes Christian faith. White is a symbol of the purity of the children, who are educated for a better future for the country.
The Earth symbolizes the word we are living in.
