Overview
Colegio Nacional Pimampiro was established on 28 September 1970 in Pimampiro (Imbabura Province). Unidad Educativa Pimampiro was formed as the merger of Colegio Nacional and another five urban schools (Ciudad de Pimampiro, Rosa Zarate, Antonio Ricaurte, Lucila Maya, and Jard�n de infantes 26 de Mayo).

The flag of UE Pampiro is vertically divided green-white-green with the school's coat of arms in the white stripe.
The emblem is diagonally divided by a green-white bend. The upper quarter features a representation of the local landscape, while the lower quarter features a book, a quill and an ink pot (top) and a branch of fructed coffee (bottom). The shield is surrounded by a golden yellow border inscribed with "COLEGIO NACIONAL" (top), "PAMPIRO" (twice, left and right), and "1970", all in black. The shield is surmounted by a graduate cap.
