Flag
The flag of Montecristi is composed of three horizontal stripes, the first, green, the second, white, and the third, red.
Green highlights the majesty of our mountain [Cerro de Montecristi, 443 m], whose slopes were the place of the history of the town.
White represents the aspiration to peace and justice.
Red represents the "libertarian heroic martyr blood" offered by the inhabitants in epic actions for the cause of the homeland and its liberty, equality and confraternity.
