Overview

Baba canton (39,681 inhabitants; 16,566 ha) is the oldest canton in Los R�os province and one of the oldest ones in Ecuador.
On 15 September 1747, the inhabitants of San Francisco de Baba revolted and refused to swear loyalty to King of Spain, Ferdinand VI.
