Overview

The canton was formed on 30 January 1992.
Information on the flag seems to have been removed from the provincial website. Text given previously:"The flag is made of three horizontal triangles, two outer right lateral triangles of yellow colour and an inner left lateral triangle of green colour. Yellow represents the soil resources through agriculture, cattle breeding, trade, etc. The green triangle means the immensity of the forest."
The flag and coat of arms are shown,graphically, on the municipal website, without further comments.
