Adoption of the flag
In May 1977, the three Provincial Councils adopted a provisional flag, which was the first official flag of Aragón.
The current flag, adopted by the Diputación General de Aragón, democratically elected in 1979, was ratified and regulated by Law of 2 April 1984. The flag is very similar to finalist No. 5 published by the Andalan magazine.
Jaume Ollé, 24 September 1999
The Flags of Aspirant Peoples chart erroneously shows the flag (No. 61: Aragón (Arago) - North Spain) with the coat of arms centered.
