The Communauté d'agglomération du Saint-Quentinois (81,489 inhabitants in 2016; 29,330 ha) was created in 2017 as the merger of the former Communauté d'agglomération de Saint-Quentin (20 municipalities, 72,463 inh., created in 1999) and the former Communauté de communes du canton de Saint-Simon (19 municipalities, 10,318 inh., created in 1994).

The Communauté de communes de Retz-en-Valois (29,594 inhabitants in 2018; 53,440 ha), created in 2017 and seated in Villers-Cotterêts, gathers 54 municipality:
- the 24 municipalities of the former Communauté de communes du Pays de la Vallée de l'Aisne;
- the 18 municipalities of the former Communauté de communes Villers-Cotterêts - Forêt de Retz;
- 12 out of the the 33 municipalities of the former Communauté de communes de l'Ourcq et du Clignon.

The Communauté de communes du Val de l'Oise (CCVO; 16,158 inhabitants in 2016; 32,720 ha), composed of 32 municipalities, was created in 2014 as the merger of the former Communauté de communes de la Vallée de l'Oise and of the former Communauté de communes du Val d'Origny.
