The “Sheffield University Speleological Society” has a flag!

The flag is divided diagonally from upper hoist to lower fly, gold over [black], with a countercharged bend sinister. Centered on the field is the logo of the Society, I believe fimbriated white. The logo shows a globe with land masses in [black] and water in white, with the [black] figure of a person descending into a cave with rappelling gear.

The colour scheme of the University is "Black and Gold" so I chose those colours for the tincture. There is little history behind the flag itself, I proposed several designs and this one was the most popular, beyond the club logo and colours there wasn't much reasoning behind the diagonal division and such, it was just an aesthetic choice that I hadn't seen used on many other flags. I was quite surprised to find out that our flag was oddly similar to the flag ofAnarcho-capitalism - rest assured that SUSS does not necessarily hold the same values as anarcho-capitalists due to this!

A photo provided to us earlier was taken on a 2016 Summer Expedition to the Pester Plateau in Serbia, a plateau upon which we planted the flag using, as you quite rightly say; a tree branch! This photo shows the flag with a distinct bluish tone.

If you update the website please mention/retain the mistake, I feel it forms part of the history of the flag now and it would be a shame to wash over it!
