The municipality of Skydra (20,188 inhabitants in 2011; 23,253 ha) was formed in the 2011 local government reform by the merger of the former municipalities of Meniida (Μενηίδα, 4,575 inh.) and Skydra (15,613 inh.).

The former municipality of Meniida was formed in 1999. The seat of the municipality was in Kali (Καλή, 1,378 inh.).
The former flag of Meniida (Kokkonis website) was white with the municipal emblem.
