Based on the Res. No. 7/1991. (VIII.28.) of the Community and a photo. Mórahalom is a town in Csongrád County in Hungary near to City of Szeged (23 km west). The town has got 5.532 inhabitants (1990 census), all of them are Hungarians. Neighbouring settlements are: Röszke, Domaszék, Zákányszék, Ruzsa and Ásotthalom villages in Hungary, Senta / Zenta community in Yugoslavia.
The territory of the nowadays settlement was a part of Szeged City from 1730. The territory has got its name from the Móra family. Mórahalom means Móra Hill. In the center of this farmland there became an administrative centre of the farmlands of Szeged - Alsóközpont - means Lower Center in 1852. The village was founded in 1950. It became large village in 1970, large village with town rank in 1984 and town in 1989.
Description of the coat of arms of the village: The green colour relates to the agriculture, the cluster of grape relates to the wine culture, and the gold hill relates to the name of the settlement.
The settlement had got another flag in 1986-1991 which adopted by the Order No. 5/1986. (IX.11.) of the Soviet of the village.
