In the early fourteen century, the Parmar Rajput rulers of Dhar, Malwa (Ujjain) were defeated and overrun by Allaudin Khillji and forced to migrate to the east. They settled along the fertile banks of the river Ganges in the western part of Bihar (Shahabad district). They were locally known as Ujjainya Rajputs because of the place of their origin, Ujjain. The territory became Chaugain Estate - Panna II with status of Zamindari.
