Overview

The Cerebral Palsy International Sports and Recreation Association (CPISRA) is the international governing body for sports for athletes with cerebral palsy. CPSRA sports are open to athletes with cerebral palsy, and athletes with similar disabilities resulting from other neurological disorders such as stroke or traumatic brain injuries. Founded in 1978, CPISRA is currently made up of 59 national members and three associations. It is a member organization of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). CPISRA is the sole international governing body for the sports of football 7-a-side, boccia, and race runner. CPISRA also holds events for its athletes in alpine skiing, athletics, bowls, cycling, nordic skiing, powerlifting, swimming, and table tennis. (Multi-disability events in these sports are governed by the IPC or other sport-specific organizations.)
The headquarter of this organization was set up in Wildeshausen, Germany.

CPISRA's history begins with the founding of the International Cerebral Palsy Society (ICPS) in 1969. Part of the ICPS was a sports and leisure group who organised the first Cerebral Palsy games in London in 1972. It is the leading international sports organisation governing and promoting sport and recreation for Cerebral Palsy (CP) and related neurological conditions. The organization hosts the Cerebral Palsy Games (CPISRA World Games / CP Games)." (Source)

The Flag

Its flag is white with its logo placed in the center of the flag. Logo consists of the globes superimposed with a red banner with name of the organization. Its motto: "acces to sport" is placed under the logo.
