Overview
The red and blue flag with the emblem in the middle is the flag of the province of Cagliari (official name: Provincia di Cagliari - in Italian - Provincia de Casteddu - in Sardinian). There are two version of this flag: one just with the emblem, and the other one with "Provincia di Cagliari and Provincia de Casteddu" printed down the emblem.

On May 2005, 23 municipalities of Cagliari Province formed the new Carbonia-Iglesias Province, 28 other municipalities formed the new Medio Campidano Province.
