Overview
Cispadana and Transpadana were merged (and also the province of Novara was merged) and the Cisalpinarepublic was created on 30 June 1797. Cisalpina adopted flag 11 May 1798. It was occupied by Austria (1799) and was restored (1800) after Marengo. On January 1802 took the name of Italian Republic (later, 1805. kingdom of Italy).

The flag of the state was NOT change during the short (1805 - 1814) kingdom of Italy. On the other hand, the war ensign was charged with the royal arms, as were most of the military flags on the reverse, which, in general, supported mottos and personal symbols on the obverse

Roberto Breschi, in his presentation: "Flags in Italy under Napoleon's pressure" at ICV 20 in Stockholm, reported about the Kingdom of Italy): It replaced the Italian Republic (1802-1805) and used the same flags beside Napoleon standard as King of Italy which was charged with his "eagle" un the centre.
