Located in Toyama City Toyama Prefecture and established in 1949. The university flag has white background with a blue gray emblem in the center. The design of the "T" and "U" of the alphabet placed in the upper left corner of the emblem represents the image of the University of Toyama soaring through the sky and the world. The large oval represents the international community and the small oval represents the region and its development as one. The squares used with the symbol mark indicate tradition, and the dynamic three-dimensional composition of the symbol mark of T and U expresses the richness of creativity. The main color, blue-grey , which has a pearly, intellectual impression, is a unique color and can also be associated with the snow and water of Toyama's rich nature. It expresses a world-class university that nurtures students who will be active and make use of their unique creativity born out of harmony with nature and people.
