The city emblem and the flag were adopted on Aug 25th 2005 by Notice No 145. The white flag has a green city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized kanji 田 Ta of Tamura. It represents an image of the city which is shining and developing unlimitedely as a highland city enveloped with green nature. The height of the emblem is 3/5 of height of the flag. The flag law does not mention the flag proportion which is unusual.
