Nozomi Kariyasu, 27 November 2014
Thanks to Mr. Kariyasu here is the flag of the town of Shioya.
Tomislav Šipek, 12 December 2014
The town emblem was adopted on Jun 6th 1978 by Instruction No 6 but there is no flag law. The maroon flag has a white town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized katakana シ Shi of Shioya in a form of wings. The center circle symbolizes the towns peace, the umbonal part does Mt. Takahara. It represents the towns development and saltus.
