Koganei city adopted its emblem on 1 October 1958. flag proportion: 2:3. colour of field: white. colour of emblem: red diameter of emblem: 3/5 flag height, a stylized kanji Ko 小.

The emblem (notice at the city website) is a stylised kanji ko 小 (small), forming a circle broken at the bottom and broken by an oval shape at the top. The oval has a pointed bottom, and two points at the top.
