The city emblem was adopted on Oct 24th 2005 by Notice No 133 but there is no flag law. The white flag has an orange, blue and green three color city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized kanji 上 of Uenohara which represents the city transmitting rush of dreams, hopes and comfort as its future vision.
