The town emblem and the flag were adopted on Jul 22nd 1971 by Notice No 8 and 9. The blue flag has a white town emblem in the center. The town emblem is a stylized katakana ア A of Anan. The clear circle symbolizes a solidarity connected with a tight friendship and a spirit of a concord. The inside steamline extending diagonally to the upper right to the emblem symbolizes an image of the town burning with the ideal.
