Designed in 1957, the City Emblem has the initial letter 'G' presenting Mt. Fuji in the center and the ridgeline of Mt Hakone surrounding it. It represents the harmony and prosperity of the cty and its citizens living in beautiful surroundings.

The city emblem was adopted on Sep 20th 1957 but there is no flag law.
