The city emblem was adopted on Oct 1st 1972 by Announcement No 7 and the flag was adopted on Jul 1st 1973 by Announcement No 9. The green flag has a white city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized kanji 長 Naga of Nagaokakyo. The circle symbolizes a conformity of the residents and the annual growh rings. The flag proportion is 2: 3.
