The city emblem was adopted on Aug 12th 1940 by Notice No 81 but there is no flag law. The green flag has a white city emblem in the center. Ikeda was a place to learn the technology of fabric and dyeing from ancient Chinese ladies. The city emblem is a form of a well from which for the ladies to get some water and a spool inside.
