The city emblem and the flag were adopted on Mar 27th 2006 by Notice No 1 and No 2. The white flag has a green, a blue and a light blue three color city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized katakana ア A of Amakusa in a form of an island and waves. The waves symbolize the vigorous citizen and the city�s development. Three colors represent Japan�s treasure island with rich nature Amakusa City.
The flag proportion is 2: 3. The height of the emblem is 65/100 height of the flag.
