The emblem consists of a long thin triangle pointing from hoist to fly, formed by the katakana o オ, n ン and one stroke of na ナ. The other stroke of the na ナ forms a circle. According to the website, the circle displays peace/harmony and signifies the villagers working together. The pointed line is a symbol of active progress within the peace and harmony. The emblem was established on the first anniversary of the return of Okinawa to Japan.

Also on the village website are pictures of the mayor receiving and passing on a "drive safely message flag" as part of a relay around the towns and villages of Okinawa.
