About the party
The Lao People's Revolutionary Party, formerly known the Lao People's Party until 1972, is the sole governing party in Laos. This status is enshrined in Article Three of the national constitution. Founded in 1955, the LPRP took its roots from the Communist Party of Vietnam, who also joined efforts of Cambodia to drive the French out of Indochina.

Party flag
The party flag is similar to a lot of other communist flags; a golden hammer and sickle on a red background.
