Overview

Upyte (Panevezys District) - on silver field with red terrace separated by mural line black rook holding red key. Flag proportions 5:6, free edges bordered with silver rope, finial is silver knob with two rings and silver bands. The mural line symbolizes the former castle and important centre of defence, the red terrace symbolizes blood spilt in fight against agressors, rook symbolizes longevity and means the long history and persistence of Upyte, and key symbolizes that once Upyte was the administrative and financial centre of Middle Lithuania.
