No Flag

The council informed me they do not have a municipal flag, but are in the process of adopting one.

A proposal existed, and appears to have been published by the Municipality itself in 2009, but I do not believe it was adopted officially. It can be seen here (archived).

Coat of Arms

The council informed me the coat of arms was adopted on 29 October 1970, being designed by the alumnus of the third year in the Secondary School No. #170 "Oscar Azuara Nájera". It was adopted through a call for submissions to the many institutions of the municipality. The shield has rolled edges on its golden border, which has the sameness to the coat of arms of San Luis Potosí. In the center is a frame which reads "Tanquián de Escobedo" at the top. Below it, an open book is depicted: it depicts Mariano Escobedo on the left; on the right, a map of the Municipality is depicted in green with the Moctezuma River flowing through it. The open book is also representative of education. Under this, a flaming torch is depicted, with a white and brown hand shaking, depicted as unchained; this is representative of the cooperative struggle for liberty and new freedom.
