Gasselte village
The noble citizens of Gasselte (Aa en Hunze municipality, Drenthe) thought it fit to choose in 2007 a new flag for the 'now'-times: a white field with the village logo as the "Boomkroondorp" (treecrownvillage).
Explanation: the rims of the circle symbolize the village character with its togethernessfeeling. The sand-colored strip around the circle shows that Gasselte is a sandy village, surrounded by marvellous nature with shifting sand and shady forests.
The crown symbolizes the fact that the villagers feel like a king when allowed to live in Gasselte and proud of this beautiful village.

The flag of the former municipality of Gasselte in Drenthe, Netherlands. Since 1 Jan 1998 part of the municipality of Aa en Hunze.
The ship reminds of the shipping on the Hunze river, especially since the 17th century; in 1913 35 expensive seaships had their homeport in Gasselternijeveen, but nowadays the Hunze can't be passed by ships over 120 tonnes BRT. Flag adopted 1 Aug 1965.
