Birthplace of Petronella Moens (1762-1843), a poet, who became blind in 1766, but still wrote novels, poems, and children's books. In the 1970's several attempts were made to create a more attractive image by organizing coffee-hours and a huge campaign to get H. de Boer (CHU) elected in the municipal council. After his election the only thing ever heard of him was a loud snore :-)

The green field represents the meadows. The jumping horse symbolizes cattle-breeding and the concours hippique, organized annually in the village.
