Echteld [former] municipality
On 1 Jan 2002 Echteld merged with Dodewaardand Kesteren to form the new municipality of Kesteren, which was renamed Neder-Betuwe on 1 Apr 2003.
Echteld is a municipality in the western Betuwe, the riverlandscape of Waal and Neder-rijn (Lower Rhine); contains since 1923 the municipality of IJzendoorn.
The flag was adopted 13 May 1954. The Coat of Arms is the municipal Coat of Arms. The BYN colors bottom right are the colors of the flag of Gelderland, while the RW 'main' colors are the municipal colors, combined pointing at the national flag of the Netherlands.
