Best municipality

Number of inhabitants: 28.000; area: 34,23 km². Best (seat) is the only sizeable settelment. The municipality was separated in 1821 from Oirschot; Here many clogs were produced in the 19th century and it became industrialized in the first half of the 20th century by the foundation of a filial of the Bata shoe-factory. This flag was approved by the municipal council on 24 April 1962.

Granted 23 Jul 1980. The saint is St. Odulphus, apostle of the Frisians, who was born in Best. See also: Stavoren.
