Stede Broec municipality
Population (1 Jan 2003): 21.172; area: 15,66 km²; settlements: Bovenkarspel (seat), Broekerhaven, Grootebroek, Horn, Lutjebroek.
Stede Broec was formed on 1 Jan 1979 by the merger of the former municipalities of Bovenkarspel and Grootebroek.
Flag: A green canton with a white five-pointed star; white bottom hoist with a planted green judicicial linden-tree; the fly is white-green; the alternating stripes divided by at least eight embattlements.
