Hof van Twente municipality
Hof van Twente is the result of a merger of the former municipalities ofAmbt Delden, Diepenheim, Goor,Markeloand Stad Delden on 1 Jan 2001. The municipality consists of Bentelo, Delden (seat), Diepenheim, Goor, Hengevelde en Markelo, totalling 35.000 inhabitants. Hof van Twente does not have its own municipal flag and coat of arms. Designs are being prepared now. Coat of arms and flag will ultimately be decided upon by the High Council of Nobility.

The flag was adopted on August 24, 2010. Its description according to the municipal government is: "Quartered by a white cross at a third of the flag's length, in yellow and green, the flag has a green medlar at the top of the hoist side, a yellow bear claw at the bottom, and a yellow lime leaf at the top of the fly.� The symbols appear to be taken from the coats of arms of the former municipalities which make up Hof van Twente, including: medlar fromGoor, bear claw fromDiepenheim, and linden leaf fromDelden.

Description: Azure two erased linden-trees or and in an enlarged inescutcheon gules a cross argent with in the first and fourth quarter a medlar-flower argent barbed vert, and in the second and third quarter a bear's paw or; the shield is surmontée of a crown or of five leaves.
The coat of arms is derived from the municipal arms of the five former municipalities. The arms of Goor (red with a white cross with 4 medlar-flowers) are most prominent, as it was the most populous; its central place reflects its geographical position in the new municipality. The bear's paws are from Diepenheim. The municipal arms of Ambt Delden, Markelo and Stad Delden show all one or more trees, while the arms of Markelo shows also an inescutcheon. The golden crown is derived from the arms of Stad Delden, Goor and Diepenheim.
