Rotterdam municipality
Population (1 Jan 2004): 599.859; area: 304,24 km²; settlements: Rotterdam-Centrum (seat), Charlois, Delfshaven, Feijenoord,Hillegersberg-Schiebroek, Hoek van Holland, Hoogvliet, Katendrecht, Kralingen-Crooswijk, Noord, Overschie, Prins Alexander, IJsselmonde.
Flag: three equally wide horizontal stripes of green and white.
This flag was adopted 10 Feb 1949 by municipal resolution. From medieval times these colors were representative of Rotterdam, although the number of stripes varied widely.
