Granted 31 Jul 1817
Description: Black, a fess argent, charged with a red St. Andrew's cross, with on each side a cipher 11, equally red.
It is said that the ciphers are "4 of 10"; in olden days four out of ten votes were sufficient to make the settlement into a town.
