Indre Østfold Municipality was created on 1 January 2020 by the merger of five municipalities: Askim Municipality, Eidsberg Municipality, Hob�l Municipality, Spydeberg Municipality and Tr�gstad Municipality.

Blazon: I grønt en sølv streng som danner et pælvis stilt skysnitt. In English: Vert a pallet nebully argent.(
Or better: Vert a riband argent streching palewise nebully? Alhtough I find no confirmation for such expression in traditional English heraldry...)
Approved by the royal resolution of 30 August 1985 after a drawing by Truls Nygaard.
The design represent the silver Hobølelva river forming meandres though a green valley.
