Blazon: På blå grunn eit sølv sjøblad omgjeve av sølv bord laga med taggesnitt. In English: Azure a sea-leaf within a tressure invected on the outer edge and engrailed on the inner edge argent.
Approved by the royal resolution of 20 November 1987 after a drawing by Kari Ruud Flem. [c2j88] (however, the legal source on-line claims it was crown prince-regent's resolution instead, and we should probably believe it)
On http://www.kirkesok.no/kirker/Slidre-kyrkje it is said that the Slidredomen (i.e. the Vestre Slidre church) on its north wall interior has a medieval depiction of a coat of arms that is used [today] as the Vestre Slidre coat of arms.
I am not sure if the tressure in the flag should not be rectangular following the model of the Scottish flag, but we may not know exactly what was meant without further sources.
