Blazon: I grønt en skråstilt sølv hammer. In English: Vert a hammer bendwise argent.
Approved by the royal resolution of 9 October 1987 after a drawing by Ulf Skauge. [c2j88]
The municipal web site includes some explanations:
- green symbolizes forestry and agriculture, but also combined with mining in the municipality. Silver colour of the hammer also provides association to metals contained in the mines in the municipality and the hammer symbolizes mining in general.
