On January 1, 2020 Selje Municipality and Eid Municipality merged to form the new Stad Municipality. The result of the unification into a new municipality are new symbols for Stad Municipality that contain elements of both former municipalities.

Like wed have seen recently in Gloppen, the design shows a fjord horse, a breed that is considered "at home" in Eid.
